Our apprentices as cutting machine operators and industrial mechanics receive state-of-the-art training. They are allowed to work on the required machines right from the start: after an introduction and practice on conventional lathes, they are immediately allowed to venture on a CNC-controlled machine. Through scheduled programming, our apprentices are able to automatically produce workpieces for our in-house production. In doing so, they work on real projects of our company.
The cycle-controlled lathe of the conturline C 400Z product line comes from the manufacturer GDW Werkzeugmaschinen, whose machines are precisely matched to the respective application. It can be used to machine all types of steel, plastics and non-ferrous metals.
To ensure high concentricity of workpieces up to 1000 mm, both a tailstock and a steady rest can be used. The ergonomic, computerized precision lathe features a maximum speed of 4000 rpm, an extreme torque of 225 Nm and a feed force in X and Z direction of up to 5000 N. The interaction of the X and C axes and the driven tools makes it possible to accomplish face machining.
We chose the machine with a 12-position disk turret, 6 of which are driven tools, because it enables special machining operations. Using Sinumerik 828 D software from Siemens, the apprentices program the desired machining, such as turning a specific diameter longitudinally. The workpieces are then created automatically, which allows us to work faster.
Maintenance and servicing work is already carried out independently by our trainees. This gives them responsibility for maintenance, quality management and execution at an early stage.
