The project, implemented under the school’s motto "Gscheid praktisch" (smart and practical), includes activities such as reforestation, game processing, and the marketing of regional products. The aim is to provide students with a lasting understanding of nature, the environment, and regional sustainability. Practical learning is at the core of the concept – from planting trees to preparing and selling local game at the weekly market.
The students’ participation in the award ceremony on March 14 at the Forum Brixen was made possible through the support of numerous regional partners – including AKE technologies GmbH. Our financial contribution helped ensure that all students could take part in the trip, regardless of their personal background.
Beyond the ceremony, the students enjoyed a diverse educational program: a guided hike through alpine protection forests on the Plose mountain, a visit to the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology in Bolzano with insights into the life of “Ötzi,” and the opportunity to explore the region of South Tyrol. The event was organized by the South Tyrolean Forestry Association and attended by guests from across the Alpine region.
As a regionally rooted and innovative company in special-purpose machinery, AKE technologies is committed to supporting sustainable projects – particularly in education and within the local community.
We sincerely congratulate GMS Untergriesbach on this well-deserved recognition and are proud to have supported their participation in this meaningful event.
