Especially when it’s up to the production of electrical components, the process design is particularly important. The keywords "ESD" or "technical cleanliness" can currently be found in almost every customer requirement. The sensitive components must be processed in a technically clean manner, and attention must also be paid to the ESD design of all system components - and of course, in addition to all this, the efficiency and cycle time implementation must not be lost of sight.
When developing assembly concepts, AKE illuminates various options and the use of a wide variety of technologies, taking into account the respective requirements. The transport system must also be individually planned and designed based on the specifications. In addition to classic double-belts, multi-carrier systems or the monorail system montrac® with attachable shuttles are regularly used.
As a development partner, we advise our customers competently and in relation to the respective application. We are increasingly using the montrac® transport system, especially when assembling electrical components.
We are now using this system again for a current project. At the recommendation of AKE, a large manufacturer of connector systems, HV modules and battery systems decided on the montrac® transport system. In this project, the customer relies on AKE's advice and uses a completely new system. We expect the integration to offer the advantage of technical cleanliness in clean room quality and highly flexible processes.
Compared to conventional transport systems, the system used causes only minimal particle emissions and fine particulate development and thus fulfills clean room classes ISO 5 and 7.
But not only the technical cleanliness was a decisive point for the use of montrac®. Another advantage is the high flexibility of the system. With built-in switches, additional process loops can be used, components can be ejected or crossings can be implemented. In addition, lifts can be integrated into the system or inclines of up to 12 degrees can be overcome directly on the conveying track. The system has a modular structure, which makes it easy to expand e.g. in the event of an increase of quantities. The system also has a positive influence on the cycle time: thanks to the high speed of up to 50m / min, extremely short cycle times can be realized.
Our customer also benefits from the longevity of the transport system and the minimal maintenance required. The montrac® shuttles have their own drives - this means that the entire conveyor system does not come to a standstill in the event of a malfunction. Only the affected shuttle has to be removed from the conveying track and production can be continued immediately.
In summary, we were able to develop an efficient, flexible assembly concept in the smallest of spaces and with a minimal floor area required and were also able to offer our customers added value in terms of system availability and cycle times.
This transport system is suitable for a wide range of applications. We consider the requirements of the product to be produced and develop the right concept for our customers - with guaranteed maximum flexibility, reliability and efficiency!
