A total of five apprentices successfully completed their training at AKE this year:
Julian Schmid and Patrick Heimann, both as cutting machine operators specialising in milling technology, Jakob Wehrle as an electronics technician for operating technology, Julian Biebl as an IT specialist for application development and Dominik Thoma, who was awarded by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce as an industrial mechanic for machine and plant technology.
Some of our trainees had already gained a good insight into the AKE company during a work placement and decided to train in our company because of the unique selling points. The work in special machine construction offers a varied everyday working life as well as an exciting insight into production far away from series and standard. All trainees also emphasised the exceptionally good working atmosphere in Team AKE.
During their training, the five were able to gain many insights into the different areas of our company. As an industrial mechanic, Dominik Thoma is now a permanent team member in the mechanical assembly department and integrated in the processes and procedures. He accompanies the assembly process of our plants from the plant construction at AKE in-house to the worldwide commissioning of the plants at the customer's site.
During their basic training, Julian Schmid and Patrick Heimann first learned how to file before moving on to the next station, where they learned how to use conventional lathes and milling machines. The two placed particular emphasis on this in order to get to know the properties of the different materials better. In the last station, the two were allowed to work as individual part producers on our new CNC-controlled training lathe. Both are now firmly integrated as skilled workers in the two-shift operation of our single-part production.
Jakob Wehrle has also mastered his apprenticeship in the electrical sector with flying colours. Due to his performance and his interest in plant commissioning, he is being trained internally to become a programmer.
With Julian Biebl, AKE technologies GmbH has trained its first apprentice as an IT specialist for application development. We are particularly proud of the very good examination result, Julian has also become an integral part of our team.
Not only the trainees but also our trainers praised the cooperation in the holistic training in the different areas with the different characters. Our former trainees have excelled both professionally and personally and have always made a great contribution to the work, making the five of them a great enrichment for AKE.
In a year's time, some of our new skilled workers want to start further training to become state-certified technicians. Trainer Herbert Wolf can also assure the full support of the company during the technician's time: "Of course, the aim is always to keep good staff. We will support the further training and therefore don't want to lose them, but integrate them." That is the main focus at AKE - when colleagues become friends.
