On Tuesday, 05.07.2022, after a two-year forced break, the Big Band Benefit Concert took place in the Dreiländerhalle Passau. The school big bands of the Passau high schools Freudenhain under the direction of Christoph Rose, Leopoldinum under Michael Beck and Georg Wörle, Vilshofen under Bernhard Glessinger and Untergriesbach under the direction of Elisabeth Rickl offered the guests a three-hour program with pieces from the genres swing, jazz, rock, blues, pop and Latin.
The young musicians impressed with their commitment to perform the arrangements, which included some classics such as "What a Feeling", "The Pink Panther Theme" or "Feeling Good", both instrumentally and vocally.
The patron of the benefit concert was mayor Jürgen Dupper. The Lions Club Passau organized the event, the proceeds of which flowed into the musical promotion of the participating high schools and into regional children's and youth work. It is also a matter of the heart for us to support this benefit event, which AKE Managing Director Boris Schneidhuber did not want to miss.
