Battery management systems (BMS) are the intelligent elements in electric or hybrid vehicles. In addition to the current-carrying components, they include sensors and control units for monitoring and managing the battery. Depending on customer requirements and the product design, AKE technologies GmbH develops different solutions for the production of BMS - from manual assembly concepts to highly automated production lines.
Currently, a line is in the commissioning phase at our customer's site, which is characterized by the high degree of automation. Due to the extremely limited space available at the production site, the system was designed with the smallest possible footprint. A compact station design and intelligent sequences allow the space-saving setup without restricting accessibility.
The implementation of the project also had to meet the highest requirements for technical cleanliness. As early as the design phase, preventive attention was paid to the avoidance of recesses and the integration of component cleaning as well as extraction systems. Gripper paths have been designed to avoid component contamination. In addition, a clean room class transport system is used.
The intelligent design of the assembly line is the basis for optimizing production. For example, in-process tests allow cycle times to be reduced. The flexible transport system enables the subsequent integration of additional variants or adaptation to increases in unit numbers by installing loops and switches. In addition, innovative processes have been implemented in individual stations that simplify the production sequence and improve component quality - resulting in an increase in plant efficiency and a simultaneous reduction in production costs!
